Booking a two week adventure can seem daunting when you have to consider everything from weather, clothes, shoes and activities – try leaving home for a year! There are so many things most of us haven’t even thought of – how to wash clothes on the road, travel towels, food, personal hygiene and shared accommodation.

I still remember my first time backpacking! I wish I could have had this book, I mean 'Bible' for female backpackers handy.  My friend Missy and I had no clue when it came to choosing which bunk-bed to choose sleeping in a room full of 8 beds and strangers.  We didn't even know we needed to bring sheets and towels. We had to learn the hard way!

And, when it came to showering in hostels and locking up valuables – we had to use team work.  I would have never been able to do it on my own.  But, now after reading High Heels and a Head Torch this could all change.
