Happening right now is the 19th  annual Global Surf Industries Noosa Festival of Surfing in Australia and is easily the biggest surf festival in the world, attracting more than 600 competitors and thousands of spectators for eight days of pure stoke.

Festival events...


• Features several fundraisers during the eight days, including the Champs for Charity
Teams Challenge, a surf and turf golf event raising money for SurfAid International,
Zaidee’s Rainbow Foundation, Frangipani Dreams and Mission Mexico
• Global One Design Invitational featuring the McTavish Original model
• Gidget’s Girls Night Out – a celebration of female surfing, in the presence of the girl who
made it all possible, Kathy Kohner Zuckerman, with a screening of the film on 3/18 at
6:30pm
• Going Vertical – Premiere of the film five years in the making that tells the story of the
shortboard revolution 3/19 at 7pm
• Music Festival – Six-hours of surf-synched rock featuring The Beautiful Girls, Ash
Grunwald, Tijuana Cartel, Band of Frequencies, Pico, Kym Campbell and The Dave Flowers
Band 3/20 at 3pm
• The Glide – Australian virtuoso violinst Richard Tognetti brings his bizarre fusion of surf and
sound to Noosa on 3/15 at 7:30pm
