Digitally Record Everything from Doodles to Diaries with IntelliPen

Writing in a diary is so old fashion! Well, you can write all you want, but how do you turn all that chicken scratch into a blog online? Most of us travel chicks are keeping blogs about our adventures (like at ExplorerGirls.com) and when it comes time to transfer your thoughts from pen to paper and then online…it can take ages!

IntelliPenWe found the coolest little gadget you can take anywhere and use on any surface to write and record even your sketchiest sketches and lengthiest thoughts. IntelliPens are the latest technology with the abilty to store thousands of handwritten pages, MP3's, pictures and more.

For the ecco minded this is the perfect techno gadget in tune with Earth Day – just think of all the paper we can save! IntelliPen digitally records and stores everything you write, doodle or draw by converting your handwriting to digital text.

The Technology:
“This technology is based on the transmission of ultrasonic acoustic waves between two or more devices via a Transmitter and a Receiver. The Transmitter, embedded within the IntelliPen, sends constant acoustic signals to the Receiver that in turn, uses them to measure the distance and position of the device.

The Transmitter sends a unique ”whistle” (an ultrasonic signal with specific time and spectrum characteristics assigned to each device) to the Receiver, constantly informing it of its position. The Receiver ”hears” the whistle and uses the sound to estimate with pinpoint accuracy the timeframe it takes the acoustic wave to travel from the IntelliPen to the Receiver, by calculating time-of-flight (TOF).”

Major Pluses (we can think of):
-    leave the laptop at home
-    never loose another important idea, phone number or note
-    forget re-typing notes from lectures at University
-    add a personal touch to your emails and digital files
-    keep all those cool sketches from travels, etc.
   save time!
