Hi, I am a newbie when it comes to surfing. I have only surfed UK and would love to hear where people’s best surf took place.

Soon enough you will be an expert surfer with a long list!  The first time I ever surfed was in the UK too!

My favourite has to be Bali.  Waves are amazing, the atmosphere is insane and I'm pretty sure the Bounty Ship is one of my favourite bars in the world.

If you're just looking for good waves and a pretty view, Hawaii and Costa Rica are also definitely worth checking out.

I also have this friend with a house in Brazil who keeps telling me the surf there is awesome.

Life may not be the party we'd hoped for, but lets dance anyway.....

I am a newbie again, learning when I was 14 on the Gold Coast and then getting chicken cause there are TOO MANY FOLKS IN THE WATER calling me KOOK, so I have taken it up in quieter waters of Perth, where there is still room for everyone. The best waves I have seen are in Margaret River, where my other half got some AWESOME waves but I could only sit and watch (they were too big for me). Woohoo, rock on Sarah.....may we both get there and in good form....

yeah at the moment I'm keeping to a beach that nobody surfs at and I am a bit nervous of the day when I have onlookers!  My plan was to stay to the unpopular beach until I get better and don't make such a fool of my self but my urge to travel to other beaches is just to overpowering!

Hi Ladies

I'm a newbie too, i've been surfing for about a year as often as I can between work and my 6 year old girl (soon to be trained as a surfer so she can come with!).

My best surf has to have been the day I went out in 2 foot waves on a cold sunny December morning and managed to surf my first unbroken wave. It was an amazing feeling that i will never forget!

Hey everyone,

This passed March Beak I attempted surfing at this surf school in Costa Rica. It was really fun. I picked it up as well as I could for the week that I was there, but now I'm back home and haven't surfed in a while. I really want to surf this summer though. Surfing in Costa Rica was awesome!! Best place I've surfed so far. Hopefully I will surf in other places so I can compare a little more. I'm trying to find the closest place to surf from Ottawa. I didn't know Perth had some good waves. Can anyone recommend anywhere other possibilities?

Brooke
