Hi all! I will be traveling from Japan to Australia the first week of May and will have brief layovers in Hong Kong. My layover on my return flight is from 10pm-10am. I would LOVE to go into the city and try some local food, take some photos, or anything really. I'm aware that the train runs from 6am-1am and so staying out late in the city would require getting a hotel. Does anyone have any recommendations for places to stay, places to see, food to eat, and things to do? Any and all information would be appreciated (^_^) |

As far as seeing anything at night, the places I would recommend are pretty much closed, but I would definitely recommend checking out the Avenue of Stars. It's their walk of fame, and it's extremely pretty. It also sits on the Kowloon side of the harbour, so you get to see downtown Hong Kong all lit up. Depending on whether or not you need to cross the harbour from one side to another (you can take the train from the airport to the subway to wherever you need in the city and it's extremely easy) you could take the ferry across. It's a really pretty trip, and although kind of noisy, definitely worth it when you see junks in the water and can see both views. You should also check out a market, I think the one I liked the best was the Jordan st. night market (Kowloon side again,) there's a bit of everything and a lot of great little restaurants lining the streets in the area. Let me know if you have any other questions! |
