When sitting on a Perth bus the other day, I was quietly observing the most beautiful young African girl, who was pregnant, and wondering about how she came to be here and what she thinks as she looks out the window at her new homeland. While I was sitting there, she opened her folder, to read the clear directions of where she was headed. I was floored to see that she was headed to a support facility for Torture Victims. I couldn't help but wonder about the horrors that her deep brown eyes had seen. I couldn't help but feel thrilled that she had been one of the lucky ones to escape. I couldn't help wanting to reach out to her and say "Welcome, I'm glad you are here". But I didn't do anything like that. I just sat in gratuitous amazement that my life has been so kind and simple. What a wonderful experience that was.........
