Normally summer is the best season for active teens who love to travel. Schools out, its hot, best time ever to hit the beach. Slight problem. I live in the middle of nowhere (literally--its a twenty minute drive to the nearest coffee shop) and I don't have my drivers license. After spending a fortune on tuition for Swiss boarding school, I don't have the money to buy a plane ticket to go somewhere fun or visit any of my friends from school. And all my friends from home happen to be out of town. If you have any ideas of things I can do, PLEASE send them my way. Until then, I'm stuck in my house reading, going for an occasional jog despite the heat, and...cleaning out the shed and basement, a special task appointed to me by none other than my own dear mother. Not exactly what I'd call the most thrilling of summers. So, despite the fact that I still have a book to read and three huge essays to write before I go back to school in August, I feel like the next month couldn't fly by fast enough. At the end of June I get to fly to Boston and then spend two weeks in a car with my mom going on a college tour. I'm not expecting it to be thrilling, but at least I get to do something other than sit in the house all by my lonesome all day. And then at the end of August I go back to school. I'm really looking forward to it. I mean, who actually SAYS they're looking forward to going back to school? I am so abnormal. But then again school means getting to climb twice a week, ski every weekend and twice a week, it means living with my friends, eating fondue and chocolate to my hearts content, and having all sorts of fun things to do on the weekends and after school.
So the countdown is on.. only 56 days left!
