Hey all,

I plan on studying abroad next year in Ireland (for the fall '09) and Australia (for the spring '10)- US seasons. I have two schools in each country I'm looking at:

For Ireland: University College Cork and Queen's University Belfast

For Australia: UNSW at Sydney and Wollongong

Any info about these areas would help- also, travel suggestions for Europe and Oceania too! Anyone going to be in those areas next year?

Thanks,

CT

Hey!

Sydney is a lot of fun and full of students from all over the world.  The campus is also beautiful!!  From the city you can take trains everywhere...and even places to escape the city life.

Bondi Beach is a short train or bus ride away!  You can also jump on ferries across the harbor to visit other beaches on the north side of the city.

It is a truley amazing and friendly city.  If you get the chance to go to school there you will not be dissapointed.  Wollongong is also nice...about an hour or less from Sydney I think...but a much smaller town...not a city, really.  But, set beautifully amongst the coast line.

Hope this helps!

Hello!

sounds exciting for you next year, Sydney is great (bit biased!) but Wollongong is great as its only a hour  (hour and a half depending) train ride from Sydney central station to the gong. Or if you get a car, the roads are good as well. And as explorer girls said, great location.  Gorgeous beaches, good little town centre, clubs, pubs and resturants.

 Good luck with it!

 Hey CT

Exchange and study abroad is the best! I did 4 months in Mexico at the start of the year and loved every minute. The worst part about it, is missing it everyday now being home.

I live in Southern Sydney, only 40 minutes from UOW. I think Wollongong uni has a much better campus life and atmosphere then UNSW. UNSW is closer to the city but if you are adventuous and love the beach, you will definitely want to be down the south coast.

Rent will also be cheaper and if you wanna come up to Sydney, it's only 1.5 hours on the train.

Please feel free to buzz me when you are here. I love doing sightseeing with travellers!
