Kangaroo Island - a very special place

Kangaroo Island is the third largest island off the Australia coast and is a very special place to visit. On a recent trip I was impressed by beautiful landscapes, unspoiled coastal scenery, and incredible wildlife - simply amazing! Here are some photo highlights of my trip.

Pennington Bay

Little Sahara

Seal Bay

Seal Bay Conservation Park is home to 800 Australian Sea Lions and you can walk onto the beach to observe this colony of wild animals - a truly wonderful experience.

Flinders Chase National Park

Flinders Chase NP is a sanctuary for native Australian animals including kangaroos, wallabies, koalas and echidnas.

We stayed at Kangaroo Island Wilderness Retreat where the tiny Tamar Wallabies come right to your door (to be fed nutritious pellets provided by the resort).

Admiral's Arch

Admiral's Arch is a haven for fur seals.

Remarkable Rocks

Check out the face in the rock.

Birds of Prey show

Although I only spent two days exploring the island (way too short), I hope to return one day to hike, bike or volunteer (all possible on Kangaroo Island). It's definitely one of my favourite places in Australia.
