Occupation
College Student
Favourite Destination
So far... Curitiba, Brasilia
Favourite Sports
Basketball, scuba diving, and hiking are the one's I've had the most experience with so I guess they're my favorites. I'll try pretty much anything, but be warned... I'll probably be pretty klutzy. I really interested in learning more about outdoor sports, e.g. rock climbing, surfing, horse-back riding, etc.
How often I travel
A few times a year
How adventurous I am
Love skydiving and bungee jumping!
Hobbies
Reading, Picking up foreign language, trying new foods, exercising (to work off aforementioned foods), good music, good times with upbeat people
Favourite Books
Hmmmm... that's a bit like asking me to pick a favorite child. Let's see, some of the one's that have made their way to my bed stand lately are "God Bless You, Dr. Kovorkian" (sp?), "Eye of the World," and "Thus Spoke Zathustra." Lol... if that gives you any indication as to my eclectic tastes. Some favorites authors are Isaac Asimov, Orson Scott Card, Dan Brown, and everyone who writes for Uncle John's Bathroom Reader.
Favourite Music
Again... ummm.... Punk Rock, Alternative Rock (upbeat, adrenaline-rushing stuff), Sinatra, Jazz, Blues, pretty much anything notable from the 60's and 70's, nothing from the 80's or 90's (with very few exceptions) and, of course, Broadway musicals' sound tracks.
Best Travel Tips
Don't not do anything!!! Yes, that's a double negative meaning "Do something!" If you're going to travel, don't stick to what you know (hotels, internet, air conditioning, your mother tongue). Get out there and explore, and you will be to find something rewarding!
About Me
Blonde, yet brainy. Adventurous. Idea of a good party: grilled hamburgers, lots of friends, a little alcohol, and a game of manhunt in a friend's wooded backyard. I'm a college student in NC. I'm studying political science and ideally want to live and work in other countries as a diplomat of some kind or a FSO. I love dancing. I love dabbling in foreign languages (Latin, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, and a tiny bit of Norwegian.) Unfortunately none of the ones I speak (besides English obviously) is anywhere near fluent yet. I just knowing enough to make friends is good for now. Speaking of which, "Hi! My name's Amanda." :-D Favourite quotes: "Be the change you want to see in the world." "All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players..."
